A win full of character - a
game where things didn't go right but we stuck to the task - In the first
half we chased and persisted (as we had to) as Edithvale were on the front
foot with their aggression and desire. We made skill errors early
particularly with our ball handling. This was due to the pressure from the
opposition as they tried to intimidate our boys. We were not to be denied.
The second half our team came out and placed constant pressure on the
opposition for the remainder of the game. Our forward line thrusts should
have netted more goals but the pleasing thing from this game was that we
dominated the game despite being behind for most of it. With the game
evenly matched at three quarter time, our side kicking into the teeth of
the breeze in the last quarter, we overran the other mob and outscored
them (48 - 30). Some very pleasing aspects particularly with our fitness
and persistence. |
