Under 13 Match report –
Round 1
The Under 13’s travelled
to Edi-Asp for round 1, with a few new players to the club and a few kids
returning to the team from the under 12’s. Edi-Asp is always a hard game, they
have 2 teams in the Blue division and they played off in the grand final last
year. They have great depth and skill and more than accounted for our team. We
ended up going down by 10 goals but we took a lot of positives out the game. Our
tackling was the best I have seen from this group, Adin smashed them in the ruck
and Blake was outstanding in the middle. We just couldn’t score goals. We didn’t
really stick to our game plan due to Edi-Asp winning a lot of the contested ball
and then they would switch play and caught our players out of position. They did
all the things we are trying do and it was good to see a team displaying the
quality that they did. Our boys stuck it out and were a lot closer in the second
half, but the damage was done early. Our best players included Charles, Adin,
Blake, Luke, Jayden, Fraser & Jack.
This is the level we
need to get to guys, to be competitive this year we need to improve in a few
areas. Next week is Langy at home, so be ready!
